Digital Design
 Grade Placement: 10, 11, 12 Full year 2 Credits 2 period / day No prerequisite is required. Digital design is for students who are interested in art and computers and how they combine in the world of Commercial Art. We will focus on the application of general design principles to problems in Commercial Art, primarily in the printed works, but also in electronic publications. Advanced knowledge and skill in Digital Design will be enhanced through experiences which simulate the Commercial Art industry through realistic projects specifically aimed at developing creative and technical skills and preparing for the real world of the design professional. This course is constantly updated to meet the ever-changing needs of the Commercial Art industry.
Instruction areas include: Leadership Skills; Learning Skills including Chapter Outlining, Taking Notes in Class, Effective Reading, Measurement and mathemetics; Layout & Design; Typography; Color Theory; and Software Publications including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Graphic Design
 Grade Placement: 10, 11, 12 Full year 2 Credits 2 period / day No prerequisite is required. The fundamental concepts of Graphic Design are the basics of some of today's most dynamic fields of advertising and publishing. The course format is integrated with hands-on experience, where theory is learned through lectures, tutorials and research. Our students work on realistic projects throughout the year, specifically aimed at developing creative and technical skills and preparing them for the real world of the design professional.
Instruction areas include: Leadership Skills, Learning Skills, Color Theory, Exploring Illustration, Drawing Skills, Pen and Ink Technique, Colored Pencil Technique, Marker Technique, Basic Layout, Cartoons, Typography, Advertising History, Career Planning, and Projects, including SkillsUSA Pin Design, Gutenberg Awards, Ad Fed, Art Show, ND Jr. Duck Stamp, VFW Patriotic Art .
Upon successful completion of this 2 year program, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the State Board of Career and Technical Education, indicating 720 hours of training.

 TITH stands for Trade, Industrial, Technical, and Health Association. It is an association made up of instructors throughout the state of North Dakota. The main focus of the organization is to help the students we serve. We offer a scholarship to students going on to post secondary education in Career & Technical Education.
