Approved BPS Career & Technical Education Center
Career and Technical Education Center Project
New Career and Technical Education Building (ideally located close to existing programs at Bismarck State College)
Probable Cost $10,000,000 - $12,000,000
Project Description
More than four hundred 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students from BHS, CHS, St. Mary's, Shiloh, Mandan, Wilton and home-schooled students travel to the Career & Technical Center to take classes. Although sophomores can apply, preference is given to juniors and seniors because of the very limited space. At the time the center was built, classroom space was not a priority because of the "hands-on" approach to learning during the mid 70's. Times have changed, including skills needed for the future. Classrooms have become a necessary tool in each program area.
• Preliminary estimates require 60,000 sq ft of space needed. • Schematic below is located just southeast of the existing career and technical space.
Additional Information $150/sq ft was used in the probable cost estimate.
